Hello friends! We are Sun Solutions, a family-owned and operated business that has been serving the North Alabama community for generations. We specialize in creating beautiful outdoor spaces with motorized screens, pergolas, awnings, patio covers and roofs, screened porches, and sun sails. We are proud of our A rating with the Better Business Bureau, and we are committed to providing our customers with the best possible experience.

The fun started when we, Frank and Kelly Pate, started Pate Enterprises. We focused on remodeling and building in North Alabama. A few years ago, we founded Sun Solutions to focus more on creating beautiful outdoor spaces with motorized screens, Pergolas, awnings, patio covers and roofs, screened porches, and sun sails. Community Involvement

In addition to our commitment to our customers, we are also active in our community. In 2023 we helped build the Habitat for Humanity 100th home in Morgan County. This project was through The Greater Morgan County Builders Association which we are very active in and have been for many years. Frank was president of GMCBA for two years and vice-president for two years before that. Frank has won the GMCBA Builder of the Year twice and Remodeler of the Year twice on the local level and won the state Builder of the Year Award in 2015. Kelly and Frank Pate started the Morgan County Home and Garden Show 12 years ago and continue to head and organize the event in Decatur.

We are very active with the Chamber of Commerce and with the city of Decatur. Kelly is a Chamber Commodore and is Past Admiral of the Commodores. This group works to promote local businesses. Frank is on the Construction Industry Board. The board is currently researching and deciding on future building codes for the city of Decatur. Frank also serves on the Executive Committee for the Home Builders Association of Alabama and is Chairperson of HBAA’s Education Committee.
